Weather and Seasons: Vocabulary and Expressions

Weather and seasons are common topics in daily conversation. In this lesson, we learn weather vocabulary and how to talk about the seasons.

1. The Four Seasons

• Spring: warm, flowers bloom, trees are green
• Summer: hot, sunny, go swimming, wear light clothes
• Autumn/Fall: cool, leaves fall, cloudy, windy
• Winter: cold, rainy, snowy, wear warm clothes

2. Weather Vocabulary

• Sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy, snowy, foggy, stormy
• Hot, warm, cool, cold, freezing
• It’s raining, it’s snowing, it’s windy

3. Question Patterns

• What’s the weather like today? It’s sunny and warm.
• What’s your favourite season? My favourite season is spring.
• Is it cold outside? Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.

4. Example Conversation

A: “What’s the weather like today?”
B: “It’s rainy and cold.”
A: “What season is it?”
B: “It’s winter.”
