Comparative and Superlative Adjectives
Comparative adjectives are used to compare two things. Superlative adjectives are used to compare one thing with all others in a group.
Forming Comparatives
Short adjectives (1 syllable): add ‘-er’ + ‘than’. Example: tall → taller than. My brother is taller than me. Adjectives ending in ‘y’: change ‘y’ to ‘i’ and add ‘-er’. Happy → happier than. Long adjectives (2+ syllables): use ‘more’ + adjective + ‘than’. Example: beautiful → more beautiful than.
Forming Superlatives
Short adjectives: add ‘the’ + ‘-est’. Example: tall → the tallest. He is the tallest in the class. Long adjectives: use ‘the most’ + adjective. Example: beautiful → the most beautiful. Irregular forms: good → better → the best. bad → worse → the worst. far → farther/further → the farthest/furthest.

Complete the sentences: 1- This book is (interesting) than that one. 2- She is the (smart) girl in school. 3- My car is (fast) than yours.
