Inventors are people who create new things that change the world. Their ideas and hard work have improved our lives in many ways.
Thomas Edison (1847-1931)
Thomas Edison was an American inventor who created the light bulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture camera. He had over 1,000 patents. He famously said: ‘Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.’
Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922)
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. He was a Scottish-born scientist who also worked on hearing devices because his mother and wife were deaf. His invention changed how people communicate forever.
Marie Curie (1867-1934)
Marie Curie was a Polish-French scientist who discovered radium and polonium. She won two Nobel Prizes (Physics and Chemistry). Her work led to the development of X-rays and cancer treatments. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.
