Comparatives and Superlatives in English
Comparatives
Used to compare two things.
- Short adjectives: -er. He is taller than me.
- Long adjectives: more. She is more beautiful than her sister.
- Irregular: good→better, bad→worse, far→farther/further
Superlatives
Used to compare three or more things.
- Short adjectives: the + -est. He is the tallest in the class.
- Long adjectives: the most. She is the most intelligent student.
- Irregular: good→best, bad→worst, far→farthest/furthest
