I. Historical Context
The Victorian era was marked by the Industrial Revolution, urbanization, social reform, and the expansion of the British Empire. Novels were published in serial form in magazines.
II. Charles Dickens (1812-1870)
Major works: Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, David Copperfield, Great Expectations, A Tale of Two Cities.
Themes: social injustice, poverty, childhood, redemption, Victorian society.

III. The Brontë Sisters
