Phrasal Verbs with Get, Take, Look, Come, Go
Phrasal verbs are essential for natural English. They consist of a verb + particle.
1. Phrasal verbs with GET
Get up: rise from bed. I get up at 7 AM.
Get along with: have a good relationship. She gets along with everyone.
Get over: recover from. He got over his illness.
Get by: manage. We get by on a small income.
2. Phrasal verbs with TAKE
Take after: resemble. She takes after her mother.
Take care of: look after. He takes care of his parents.
Take off: remove / depart (plane).
Take up: start a hobby. I took up painting.
3. Phrasal verbs with LOOK
Look after: take care of. Look for: search for. Look forward to: anticipate with pleasure. Look up: search for info.
4. Phrasal verbs with COME and GO
Come across: find by chance. Come up with: think of an idea. Go on: continue. Go through: experience difficulty.
