Introduction

Family is an important part of our lives. In this lesson, you will learn how to talk about your family members, describe them, and use possessive adjectives correctly.

Family Members Vocabulary / مفردات أفراد الأسرة

• Father / Dad – الأب
• Mother / Mum – الأم
• Brother – الأخ
• Sister – الأخت
• Grandfather – الجد
• Grandmother – الجدة
• Uncle – العم / الخال
• Aunt – العمة / الخالة
• Cousin – ابن العم / ابن الخال

Grammar: Possessive Adjectives

• My – ملكي: my father, my mother
• Your – ملكك: your brother
• His – ملكه: his sister
• Her – ملكها: her uncle
• Our – ملكنا: our family
• Their – ملكهم: their parents

Example Sentences

• My father is a teacher. / والدي معلم
• Her mother is a doctor. / والدتها طبيبة
• Their house is big. / منزلهم كبير
