Daily Routines — Present Simple Tense

In this lesson, we will learn how to talk about our daily routines using the Present Simple tense. This is one of the most important tenses in English.

1. Daily Routines Vocabulary

2. The Present Simple Tense — Affirmative Form

Subject	Verb	Example
I	base form	I wake up at 6:00.
You	base form	You go to school.
He / She / It	base form + -s/-es	He wakes up at 6:00. / She goes to school.
We	base form	We have lunch at 12:00.
They	base form	They do their homework.

Spelling Rules for 3rd Person Singular (He/She/It)

• Most verbs: add -s → wake -> wakes, eat -> eats
• Verbs ending in -s, -sh, -ch, -x, -o: add -es → go -> goes, watch -> watches, brush -> brushes
• Verbs ending in consonant + y: change y to -ies → study -> studies, carry -> carries

3. Negative Form

5. Adverbs of Frequency

Adverb	Meaning	Position	Example
Always	100% — دائما	before the main verb	I always brush my teeth.
Usually	80% — عادة	before the main verb	She usually walks to school.
Sometimes	50% — أحيانا	before or after verb	He sometimes plays football.
Never	0% — أبدا	before the main verb	They never eat fast food.

• I wake up at 6:30 every day.
• My mother prepares breakfast for us.
• We don\t watch TV in the morning.
• Does your father go to work by car?
• She always does her homework after school.
• They never eat lunch at school.
