📖 Grammar and Vocabulary Explanation:
1. Expressing Personal Opinions:
When you want to express what you think about something, use these phrases:
- In my opinion, … (في رأيي)
- I think that … (أعتقد أن)
- I believe that … (أؤمن بأن)
- From my point of view, … (من وجهة نظري)
- As far as I’m concerned, … (بقدر ما يهمني)
- It seems to me that … (يبدو لي أن)
- Personally, I … (شخصياً، أنا…)
- To my mind, … (في عقلي/رأيي)
- I would say that … (أود القول إن)
- I strongly believe that … (أؤمن بشدة أن) ← strong opinion
2. Agreeing (الموافقة):
Neutral agreement:
- I agree with you. (أوافقك الرأي)
- That’s true. (هذا صحيح)
- You’re right. (أنت محق)
- I think so too. (أعتقد ذلك أيضاً)
Strong agreement:
- I completely agree. (أوافق تماماً)
- Absolutely! (بالتأكيد)
- Exactly! (بالضبط)
- I couldn’t agree more. (لا أستطيع الموافقة أكثر)
- That’s exactly what I think. (هذا بالضبط ما أعتقد)
3. Disagreeing (المخالفة/الرفض):
Polite disagreement:
- I’m afraid I disagree. (أخشى أني أخالفك الرأي)
- I see your point, but … (أرى وجهة نظرك، لكن…)
- That may be true, but … (قد يكون ذلك صحيحاً، لكن…)
- I’m not sure I agree with you. (لست متأكداً من موافقتي)
Strong disagreement:
- I don’t agree at all. (لا أوافق بتاتاً)
- I totally disagree. (أخالف تماماً)
- That’s not true. (هذا غير صحيح)
- You can’t be serious! (لا يمكن أن تكون جاداً!)
4. Giving Reasons for Your Opinion:
- Because … (لأن)
- The reason is that … (السبب هو أن)
- This is due to … (هذا يرجع إلى)
- For this reason, … (لهذا السبب)
- … which means that … (مما يعني أن)
📝 BAC-Style Exercises:
Exercise 1: Complete each sentence with an appropriate expression:
- “______________, social media has a negative impact on young people.” (expressing opinion)
- “______________. I think it helps people stay connected.” (disagreeing politely)
- “______________. You’ve made an excellent point.” (agreeing strongly)

Exercise 2 (BAC Writing Task): Write a short paragraph (80-100 words) expressing your opinion about: “Should students use smartphones at school?” Use at least THREE opinion expressions.
Model Answer:
“Personally, I believe that smartphones should be allowed at school but with strict rules. In my opinion, they are useful tools for research and learning. Students can access educational apps and look up information quickly. However, from my point of view, phones should be banned during class time to avoid distraction. I completely agree that they can be misused, but that’s why clear regulations are needed. To my mind, teaching responsible phone use is better than banning them entirely.”
