📖 Grammar Explanation:
1. When to use “There is” and “There are”:
We use “there is” (singular) before a singular noun or uncountable noun.
We use “there are” (plural) before a plural noun.
2. Affirmative Form:
- There is a book on the table. (هناك كتاب على الطاولة)
- There is some water in the glass. (هناك بعض الماء في الكأس)
- There are two chairs in the room. (هناك كرسيان في الغرفة)
- There are many students in the class. (هناك العديد من الطلاب في القسم)
3. Negative Form:
- There is not (isn’t) a pen on the desk.
- There is not (isn’t) any milk in the fridge.
- There are not (aren’t) any windows in this room.
- There are not (aren’t) any flowers in the garden.
4. Interrogative Form:
- Is there a school near your house? Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t.
- Is there any sugar in the coffee? Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t.
- Are there any books on the shelf? Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
- Are there any parks in your city? Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
5. Using Quantifiers with There is/There are:
- There is a/an + singular countable noun
- There is some + uncountable noun
- There are some + plural countable noun
- There aren’t any + plural/uncountable noun
- There are a lot of / many + plural countable noun
- There is a lot of / much + uncountable noun
