Countable and Uncountable Nouns
Nouns can be countable or uncountable, affecting quantifiers and articles.
Countable Nouns
Can be counted, have singular/plural: a book, two books. Questions: How many books? There are a few students.
Uncountable Nouns
Cannot be counted, one form only: water, milk, rice, bread, information, money, time, music, news. Questions: How much water? There is a little milk.
Quantifiers
Countable: some, any, many, a few, several. Uncountable: some, any, much, a little. Both: some, any, a lot of, no.
Exercises
Sort nouns into countable/uncountable: apple, water, book, money, rice, milk, pen. Complete with How many/much: sugar? chairs? time?
