Writing a Postcard
A postcard is a short message sent to friends or family while on holiday. It describes where you are, what you are doing, and how you feel.
Structure of a Postcard
1- Greeting: Dear…, Hello… 2- Where you are and the weather. 3- What you are doing/ have done. 4- How you feel. 5- Closing: See you soon! Love/Wish you were here. 6- Your name.
Useful Phrases
Having a great time! The weather is… I visited… I went to… The food is delicious. We are staying at… I wish you were here. See you next week.
Example
Dear Mum, I am having a great time in Oran. The weather is hot and sunny. I visited the beach and the port. The seafood is delicious! See you next week. Love, Amina.
Exercise
Write a postcard to your best friend about your holiday in your favourite Algerian city (40-60 words).
