In this lesson, you will learn how to describe your town or city in writing. This is a common topic for writing assignments and exams.
Structure of a Descriptive Paragraph
- Topic sentence: Introduce the name and general impression of your city.
- Supporting details: Describe locations, buildings, activities, and people.
- Concluding sentence: Summarize your feelings about the city.

Model Paragraph
“My city, Algiers, is a beautiful coastal city. It has many interesting places like the Casbah, the Grand Post Office, and the botanical garden.
