Reading short stories helps improve your vocabulary, grammar understanding, and critical thinking skills.

Key Elements of a Short Story

• Characters: The people or animals in the story.
• Setting: Where and when the story takes place.
• Plot: The sequence of events (beginning, middle, end).
• Conflict: The problem in the story.
• Resolution: How the problem is solved.

Reading Strategies

Sample Story: The Ant and the Grasshopper
