Present Simple Tense
In this lesson for 2nd Year Middle School students in Algeria, we study the Present Simple Tense with examples and exercises.
Usage
The present simple expresses habits, routines, general truths, and feelings. Examples: I wake up at 7 am. Water boils at 100°C.
Formation
Affirmative: Subject + base verb (+s/es for he/she/it). Negative: Subject + do/does not + base verb. Questions: Do/Does + subject + base verb?
Examples
Example 1: I wake up at 6 o clock every day. (habit)
Example 2: She goes to school by bus. (routine)
Example 3: They do not eat meat. (negative)
Exercises
Exercise 1: Complete: He ___ (play) football. They ___ (not/like) coffee.
Exercise 2: Make questions: You like pizza. → Do you like pizza?
Exercise 3: Write 3 sentences about your daily routine.
