Used for commands, instructions, and advice.
Formation
Affirmative: base verb (Open the door. Listen. Be quiet.) Negative: Dont + base verb (Dont run. Dont be late.)
Uses
Commands: Sit down! Instructions: First mix the flour. Then add the eggs. Advice: Eat healthy. Directions: Turn left.
Exercises
- Make imperative: (you) close the window. (you) not smoke.
- Give instructions for making a sandwich.
Answers
1. Close the window. Dont smoke here. 2. First take bread. Then add butter. Finally add cheese.
