Future Continuous: Will be + V-ing

The future continuous describes an action that will be in progress at a specific time in the future.

Form

Subject + will be + verb-ing

“I will be waiting at the station at 6pm.”

“She will be working when you arrive.”

Uses

• Action in progress at a future time: “This time next week, I’ll be lying on the beach.”
• Polite inquiries: “Will you be using the car tonight?”
• Future plans: “I’ll be seeing the doctor tomorrow.”

Negative

will not (won’t) be + V-ing: “I won’t be coming to the party.”
