Comparative and Superlative Adjectives
Comparative and superlative forms are used to compare things or people.
1. Comparative
Short adjectives: adjective + er + than. Ali is taller than Ahmed.
Long adjectives: more + adjective + than. This book is more interesting than that one.
2. Superlative
Short adjectives: the + adjective + est. Ali is the tallest in the class.
Long adjectives: the most + adjective. This is the most beautiful city.
3. Irregular Forms
- Good → better (than) → the best
- Bad → worse (than) → the worst
- Far → farther/further → the farthest/furthest
- Much/many → more → the most
4. Exercises
Complete: This car is (fast) _____ than that car. She is the (good) _____ student.
