Adverbs of Frequency: always, usually, often, sometimes, never
Adverbs of frequency tell us how often an action happens.
1. The Adverbs
- 100% always: I always brush my teeth.
- 90% usually: She usually walks to school.
- 70% often: They often play football.
- 50% sometimes: He sometimes eats pizza.
- 10% seldom/rarely: I rarely watch TV.
- 0% never: We never smoke.
2. Position in the Sentence
Adverbs of frequency go before the main verb but after the verb ‘to be’.
She always arrives on time. He is never late.
3. Exercises
Put the adverb in the correct place: I (often) read books. → I often read books.
