The Revival School
Revived classical Arabic poetry traditions. Pioneers: Mahmoud Sami al-Baroudi Ahmed Shawqi Hafiz Ibrahim. Characteristics: adhering to classical form but addressing modern themes.
The Romantic School
Emphasized emotion nature and individual experience. Pioneers: Khalil Mutran the Diwan group Apollo group. Characteristics: new themes emotional depth.
The Realist School
Focused on social reality depicting everyday life. Pioneers: Taha Hussein Tawfiq al-Hakim Naguib Mahfouz.
