1. Introduction

In English, when one verb follows another verb, the second verb is either a gerund (V-ing) or an infinitive (to + V). Choosing the correct form is essential for good grammar.

• Gerund (V-ing): I enjoy reading books.
• Infinitive (to + V): I want to read this book.

2. Verbs Followed by Gerunds (V-ing)

Common verbs that require the gerund form:
