2. Using “There is” and “There are”
THERE IS (هناك / يوجد) — for ONE thing (singular):
✅ There is a sofa in the living room.
✅ There is a bed in the bedroom.
❌ There is two beds. → Wrong!
THERE ARE (هناك / يوجد) — for MANY things (plural):
✅ There are four chairs in the dining room.
✅ There are two windows in the kitchen.
3. Negative Form
There isn’t (there is not) — singular
There isn’t a garden in my house.
There aren’t (there are not) — plural
There aren’t any pictures on the wall.
4. Question Form
Is there…? — Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t.
Is there a fridge in the kitchen? Yes, there is.
Are there…? — Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
Are there three bedrooms? Yes, there are.
Examples — Describing a House:
In my house, there is a big living room. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a modern kitchen with a fridge and an oven. There are six chairs around the dining table. There isn’t a garden, but there are plants on the balcony.
