Modal Verbs: Can, Must, Should, May, Might
Modal verbs are auxiliary verbs that express ability, obligation, permission, possibility, and advice.
1. Can
Ability: I can swim. Permission: Can I go out? Negative: cannot (can’t).
2. Must
Obligation: You must study. Prohibition: You mustn’t smoke.
3. Should
Advice: You should see a doctor. Negative: shouldn’t.
4. May and Might
Possibility: It may rain. It might rain. Permission: May I come in?

- Can = ability/permission
- Must = strong obligation
- Should = advice/recommendation
- May = polite permission/possibility
- Might = weak possibility
