Present Perfect with For and Since
The present perfect connects the past with the present. For and since are used to express duration.
1. For + duration
for two years, for three hours, for a long time.
Example: I have lived here for five years.
2. Since + starting point
since 2020, since Monday, since I was a child.
Example: She has worked here since 2019.
3. Questions
How long have you studied English?
I have studied English for three years / since 2023.
Exercises
