Countable and Uncountable Nouns: Quantifiers

Countable Nouns

Can be counted (one apple, two apples). Can use a/an, many, few, several.

Uncountable Nouns

Cannot be counted (water, rice, information). Use much, little, some, any.

Quantifiers

• Some: affirmative (I have some money)
• Any: negative/question (I don t have any money. Do you have any?)
• Much: uncountable (How much water?)
• Many: countable (How many books?)
• A lot of: both (a lot of people, a lot of time)
