Should and Must
Should (Advice)
Subject + should + base verb
Ex: You should study more.
Ex: She should see a doctor.
Negative: You shouldn’t eat too much sugar.
Must (Obligation)
Subject + must + base verb
Ex: You must wear a seatbelt in a car.
Ex: Students must do their homework.
Negative: You mustn’t smoke here. (prohibition)
Difference
Should = recommendation (less strong).
Must = obligation or rule (very strong).
Exercises

3. Write 3 rules for your classroom using must.
4. Give 3 pieces of advice using should.
