Future with Going To
Introduction
We use “going to” to talk about future plans and predictions based on evidence.
Formation
Subject + am/is/are + going to + base verb
Ex: I am going to visit my grandmother tomorrow.
Ex: It is going to rain. (Look at those dark clouds!)
Negative
Subject + am/is/are + not + going to + base verb
Ex: She is not going to come to the party.
Questions
Are you going to study tonight?
What are they going to do?
Exercises
1. Complete: I ___ (going to) buy a new phone.
2. Make negative: We are going to travel. → ___
3. Write 3 plans for next weekend using going to.
