What is a descriptive paragraph?
A descriptive paragraph describes a person, place, or thing using vivid adjectives and details.
Structure
- Topic sentence: introduces the person
- Supporting details: physical appearance and personality
- Concluding sentence: your feeling about the person
Useful vocabulary
- Appearance: tall, short, slim, beautiful, handsome
- Eyes: blue, brown, big, small
- Hair: long, short, curly, straight, blond, brown
- Personality: kind, friendly, funny, serious, intelligent
Example
My mother is a beautiful woman. She has long brown hair and big brown eyes. She is tall and slim. She is kind and always helps people. I love my mother very much.
