Comparatives and Superlatives (3rd Year MS)

Long adjectives

For adjectives with 2+ syllables, we use more/most.
beautiful → more beautiful → the most beautiful
expensive → more expensive → the most expensive

Short adjectives

For 1-syllable adjectives: add -er / -est.
big → bigger → the biggest
old → older → the oldest

Irregular

good → better → the best
bad → worse → the worst

Exercises

1. Complete: She is … (beautiful) than her sister.
2. Complete: This is … (expensive) dress in the shop.
3. Correct: This is more good than that.
