Prepositions of Place: in, on, at, under, behind, next to
Prepositions of place indicate the position of someone or something.
1. In
Inside an area or space. The pencil is in the case. He lives in Algiers.
2. On
On a surface. The book is on the table. Write on the board.
3. At
A specific point or location. She is at school. Meet me at the bus stop.
4. Other prepositions
- Under: below something. The cat is under the chair.
- Behind: at the back. The garden is behind the house.
- Next to / Beside: beside. My house is next to the mosque.
- Between: in the middle. The school is between the bank and the post office.
- In front of: facing. The car is in front of the house.
5. Exercises
