Essay Writing: Structure and Organization
An essay is a structured piece of writing that presents and develops a thesis or argument. Structure: Introduction (hook, background, thesis statement), Body paragraphs (topic sentence, supporting details, examples, analysis), Conclusion (restate thesis, summarize main points, final thought). Types of essays: argumentative, descriptive, narrative, expository. Use transition words: first, second, however, therefore, in addition, consequently, in conclusion. Always plan your essay before writing and revise after.

- Identify the thesis statement and topic sentences in a sample essay.
