Quantifiers

SOME and ANY

• Some: affirmative sentences. (I have some books.)
• Any: negative and questions. (I don’t have any money. Do you have any water?)

NO

Used with affirmative verb = not any. (I have no friends = I don’t have any friends.)

MUCH, MANY, A LOT OF

• Much: uncountable nouns. (How much sugar? I don’t have much time.)
• Many: countable nouns. (How many chairs? There are many students.)
• A lot of: both countable and uncountable. (I have a lot of friends.)
