Possessive Adjectives and Pronouns
Possessive adjectives and pronouns show ownership or belonging. Possessive adjectives come before a noun, while possessive pronouns replace a noun.
Possessive Adjectives
- I → my (my book)
- You → your (your pen)
- He → his (his car)
- She → her (her bag)
- It → its (its tail)
- We → our (our school)
- They → their (their house)
Possessive Pronouns
mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
Examples
This is my pencil. → This pencil is mine.
That is her bag. → That bag is hers.
These are our books. → These books are ours.
Exercises
