1. Introduction
Knowing health vocabulary is important for describing how you feel and communicating with a doctor. This lesson teaches you words and phrases for health situations.
2. Parts of the Body
- Head: head, hair, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue
- Upper body: neck, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, chest, back
- Lower body: legs, knees, feet, toes
3. Common Health Problems
- headache, stomachache, toothache, backache, earache
- cough, cold, fever, flu, sore throat, runny nose
- cut, burn, bruise, broken arm/leg
4. At the Doctor’s
- What is the matter? – I have a headache.
- Where does it hurt? – My stomach hurts.
- I feel sick / dizzy / tired.
- You should take this medicine.
- You need to rest.
5. Exercises
- Name 5 body parts in English.
- What do you say when you have a cold? Write 3 sentences.
- Role-play: You are at the doctor’s. Write a dialogue.
- Make a health poster with 5 tips for staying healthy.
