1. Introduction

Knowing health vocabulary is important for describing how you feel and communicating with a doctor. This lesson teaches you words and phrases for health situations.

2. Parts of the Body

• Head: head, hair, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue
• Upper body: neck, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, chest, back
• Lower body: legs, knees, feet, toes

3. Common Health Problems

• headache, stomachache, toothache, backache, earache
• cough, cold, fever, flu, sore throat, runny nose
• cut, burn, bruise, broken arm/leg

4. At the Doctor’s

• What is the matter? – I have a headache.
• Where does it hurt? – My stomach hurts.
• I feel sick / dizzy / tired.
• You should take this medicine.
• You need to rest.
