BAC Revision: English Tenses Overview
Complete overview of English tenses for BAC:
Present Simple: habits, facts. “He studies every day.” “Water boils at 100°C.”
Present Continuous: now, temporary. “He is studying now.” “She is living in Algiers.”
Past Simple: finished past. “She visited Paris last year.” “I met him yesterday.”
Past Continuous: in progress in past. “I was reading when he called.”
Present Perfect: past→present connection. “I have visited Paris.” “She has lived here for 5 years.”
Past Perfect: past before past. “He had left when I arrived.”
Future (will): predictions, promises. “It will rain tomorrow.” “I will help you.”
Future (going to): plans. “We are going to travel next week.”
Present Perfect Continuous: “He has been working for 3 hours.”
Conditional: Type 1 (real): if + present, will. Type 2 (unreal): if + past, would. Type 3 (past): if + had, would have.
