So and Neither are used to show agreement or similarity in short responses.

So — for positive agreement

So + auxiliary + subject. Used to agree with a positive statement.

• I like football. → So do I.
• She is a student. → So am I.
• They went to the park. → So did we.
• He can swim. → So can I.

Neither — for negative agreement

Neither + auxiliary + subject. Used to agree with a negative statement.

• I don’t like coffee. → Neither do I.
• She isn’t tired. → Neither am I.
• They didn’t go. → Neither did we.
• He can’t fly. → Neither can I.
