Grammar: A / An (Indefinite Articles)

• Use “a” before words that start with a consonant sound: a book, a pen, a desk, a chair, a ruler.
• Use “an” before words that start with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u): an eraser, an apple, an exercise book, an orange.

Grammar: This is / These are

• This is + singular noun: “This is a book.” (هذا كتاب)
• These are + plural noun: “These are books.” (هذه كتب)

Examples:

• This is a pencil. → These are pencils.
• This is an eraser. → These are erasers.
• This is a chair. → These are chairs.
