Modal Verbs: can, could, must, should, may, might

Uses

Can/Could: ability (I can swim), permission (Can I go?), request (Could you help?).
Must/Have to: obligation (You must study). Must not: prohibition (You must not smoke).
Should/Ought to: advice (You should see a doctor).
May/Might: possibility (It may rain), permission (May I come in?).
