Part 1: Numbers 20 to 100 — الأعداد من 20 إلى 100
\n\n
In English, numbers from 20 to 90 follow a pattern: the tens (twenty, thirty, forty…) + a unit (one, two, three…). Let’s learn the tens first:
\n\n
| Number | English | Arabic | Pronunciation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | Twenty | عشرون | twen-tee |
| 21 | Twenty-one | واحد وعشرون | twen-tee WUN |
| 30 | Thirty | ثلاثون | thur-tee |
| 40 | Forty | أربعون | for-tee |
| 50 | Fifty | خمسون | fif-tee |
| 60 | Sixty | ستون | siks-tee |
| 70 | Seventy | سبعون | sev-en-tee |
| 80 | Eighty | ثمانون | ay-tee |
| 90 | Ninety | تسعون | nine-tee |
| 100 | One hundred | مئة | wun HUN-dred |
\n\n
Rule / القاعدة: For numbers like 21, 35, 47, we write: tens + hyphen (-) + unit.
\nExample: 21 = twenty + one = twenty-one, 47 = forty-seven, 83 = eighty-three
\n\n
⚠️ Important notes / ملاحظات مهمة:
\n
- \n
- Write thirty (NOT threety) for 30
- Write forty (NOT fourty) for 40 — no ‘u’!
- Write fifty (NOT fivety) for 50
- Eighty (NOT eightty) for 80 — only one ‘t’

- Teen vs Ty: Be careful! 13-19 end in -teen (thirTEEN) with stress on the last syllable. 20-90 end in -ty (THIRty) with stress on the first syllable.
- Thirty / Forty / Fifty: The ‘t’ in thirty sounds like a quick /d/ in American English.
- Hundred: Pronounced /ˈhʌn.drəd/ — don’t say ‘hundred’ with a hard ‘d’ at the end.
