My Daily Routine: Simple Present Tense
Talking about our daily activities is very useful. In this lesson, we learn how to describe our daily routine using the Simple Present tense.
1. What is Simple Present?
We use Simple Present to talk about habits, routines, and facts.
Structure: Subject + Verb (base form) + (s/es for he/she/it)
- I wake up at 6:00.
- He wakes up at 6:30.
- She goes to school by bus.
- They play football in the afternoon.
2. Daily Routine Expressions
Morning: wake up, get up, have breakfast, brush my teeth, go to school
Afternoon: have lunch, do homework, play with friends, watch TV
Evening: have dinner, take a shower, read a book, go to bed
3. Time Expressions
- In the morning / in the afternoon / in the evening
- At night / at noon / at midnight
- At 7 o’clock / at half past eight
- Every day / every week / always / usually / sometimes
4. Example Paragraph
“Every day, I wake up at 6:30 am. I have breakfast at 7:00 and then I go to school. School starts at 8:00. I have lunch at 12:30. In the afternoon, I do my homework and play with my friends. In the evening, I have dinner at 7:30 and then I watch TV. I go to bed at 9:30.”

- Write about your daily routine (5-6 sentences).
