Used for general truths, facts, and habits.

Structure

If/When + present simple, present simple.

If you heat ice, it melts.

Examples

🔹 If it rains, the grass gets wet.
🔹 When you mix blue and yellow, you get green.
🔹 If you don’t eat, you feel hungry.
🔹 If I am tired, I go to bed early.

Difference from First Conditional

Zero conditional: always true (facts).
First conditional: possible future situations.
