Days of the Week and Months of the Year
Learning the days of the week and months of the year is essential for daily communication in English.
1. Days of the Week
There are seven days in a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Monday is the first day of the week
- Weekdays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Weekend: Saturday and Sunday
2. Months of the Year
There are twelve months in a year: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
3. Seasons
Spring (March, April, May) – Summer (June, July, August) – Autumn (September, October, November) – Winter (December, January, February)
4. Prepositions
- Use ON with days: on Monday, on Friday
- Use IN with months and years: in January, in 2025
- Use AT with specific times: at 8 o’clock
Exercises
- Write the days in order starting from Monday.
- Which month comes after June? Which month comes before October?
- Complete: “My birthday is ___ March. The class is ___ Monday.”
- Answer: What day is it today? What month is it?
