Writing: My Dream Job
Lesson Objectives:
- Learn vocabulary for jobs and careers.
- Write about your dream job.
- Use “want to be” and “would like to”.
Jobs Vocabulary:
- doctor, teacher, engineer, pilot, nurse, lawyer, journalist, artist, musician, chef, firefighter, police officer.
Useful Expressions:
- I want to be a doctor.
- I would like to become an engineer.
- My dream job is to be a pilot.
- I am interested in being a journalist.
Writing Structure:
- Introduction: What job you want.
- Reasons: Why you want this job.
- Skills: What skills you need.
- Conclusion: How you will achieve your dream.
Example:
“When I grow up, I want to be a teacher. I love helping others learn new things. Teachers need to be patient and kind. I will study hard to achieve my dream. I believe that teaching is the most rewarding job.”
Exercises:
- Write 6 sentences about your dream job.
- Ask 3 classmates: “What do you want to be?”
- Describe the skills needed for a job.
