First Conditional
The first conditional is used to talk about possible future situations and their results. The condition is in the present simple, and the result is in the future with ‘will’.
Formation
If + present simple, will + base verb. Example: If it rains, I will stay at home. If you study hard, you will pass the exam. If she comes early, we will go to the park.
Other possible structures
Unless = if not: Unless you study, you will fail. (If you don’t study…) Modal verbs can be used: If you finish your work, you can go out. Commands: If you see him, tell him to call me.
Exercises
Complete the sentences: 1- If it is sunny, we … (go) to the beach. 2- If you … (not hurry), you will miss the bus. 3- She … (be) happy if you visit her.
