Clauses of Concession

Concession clauses express contrast or unexpected results.

Although / Even though + clause: Although it was raining, we went out. / Even though he was tired, he continued working.

Despite / In spite of + noun/V-ing: Despite the rain, we went out. / In spite of being tired, he continued working.
