Wish and If Only

Present wishes

I wish + past simple: I wish I had more time. / If only + past simple: If only I knew the answer.

Past regrets

I wish + past perfect: I wish I had studied harder. / If only + past perfect: If only I had listened to my parents.

Future wishes

I wish + would + V1: I wish it would stop raining. / If only + would: If only he would arrive on time.
