Belief in prophets is the fourth pillar of faith. Allah sent prophets to guide humanity.

Definition

A prophet is a man chosen by Allah to receive revelation and guide his people. A messenger is a prophet with a new law. Every messenger is a prophet but not every prophet is a messenger.

Qualities of Prophets

Truthfulness trustworthiness intelligence conveying the message infallibility in delivering revelation human nature.

Number of Prophets

25 prophets mentioned in the Quran. Five are the messengers of firm resolve: Muhammad Ibrahim Musa Isa Nuh.
