Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Comparative:

Used to compare two things.
– Short adjectives: adj-er + than. Ex: “John is taller than Mark.”
– Long adjectives: more + adj + than. Ex: “This book is more interesting than that one.”
– Irregular: good→better, bad→worse, far→farther/further.

Superlative:

Used to compare three or more things.
– Short: the + adj-est. Ex: “Mount Everest is the highest mountain.”
– Long: the most + adj. Ex: “She is the most intelligent student.”
– Irregular: good→the best, bad→the worst.

Exercice BAC 2020:

“This exercise is (difficult) than the previous one.” → more difficult
“He is (good) player in the team.” → the best
