The Past Perfect Tense

Form: had + past participle. Used for an action completed before another in the past.

Uses

1. Order of events: She had finished before she went out.
2. Reported speech: He said he had seen it.
3. Conditional 3: If I had known, I would have come.
4. Wish: I wish I had studied.
