First Conditional: Real Possibilities with If/When/Unless

The first conditional describes real and possible situations. Structure: If/When + present simple, will + base verb. Examples: If it rains, I will stay home. When I finish school, I will study medicine. Unless you study, you will fail. Variations: imperative + if clause (Call me if you need help), modal verbs (If you are sick, you should see a doctor). The if clause can come at the beginning (comma needed) or end: I will go if you come with me. Zero conditional for general truths: If you heat ice, it melts.
